Hunting and Fishing Safaris offer spectacular pig hunting and fishing safaris to the
exotic Mount Borradaile region in north-west Arnhemland, in Australia's
Northern Territory. A huge wild boar
population ( also known as hog and feral pig ) inhabits the area and hunters are assured of fine trophies.
Suitable firearms can be hired on site and ammunition purchased,
bowhunters are welcome and trophy fees apply. Max Davidson is the longest
serving professional guide in Australia, and won the Safari Club
International South Pacific/Australasian Guide of the Year Award in 1995.
The rivers and billabongs of the region are a
fisherman's delight, home to species such as barramundi (up to 20kg),
tarpon, black bream, archer fish, alligator garfish and catfish. Scenarios include
escarpment and billabong fishing, with the chance of saltwater fishing if
seasonal conditions allow it. Wet season rains open the billabongs to the
sea, ensuring a plentiful and diverse fish population throughout the year.
We
can arrange a dedicated hunting or fishing safari, or a combination of both
to suit your requirements. You will be based at our comfortable Brolga Camp
in a remote wilderness setting, and our experienced guides will soon have
you in the thick of the action. A fleet of 4WD vehicles and boats allows us
to conduct safaris throughout the year.
If you would like a break while on safari, a day trip to our main tourist
camp at Mount Borradaile can be arranged at no extra charge. From there you
can visit the world famous Aboriginal rock art galleries that abound in the
area, and experience the cultural history of an ancient race.
We cater for the individual hunter or fisherman, and for small, large or
corporate groups. Access to the camp is restricted to light aircraft during
the wet season, and light aircraft or drive yourself (4WD only) during the dry season. We welcome
you to the boar hunting and/or barramundi fishing experience of a lifetime.
