With a success rate of 100% over a period of 28 years, Davidsons Arnhemland
Safaris has a reputation that is second to none for hunting wild boar, also
known as feral pig and hog, in the Top
End of Australia's Northern Territory. Based at our comfortable Brolga Camp in
an exotic, remote wilderness setting, you will have access to the massive feral pig
population that roams the floodplains and savannah grasslands of the Mount
Borradaile region in north western Arnhemland.
Our team of dedicated,
professional guides are committed to providing an unforgettable hunting
adventure. All hunts take place between 11 and 13 degrees south of the equator,
where a distinct wet season delivers intense tropical downpours from January to
April. Access to the hunting concession during the wet season is by light
aircraft from Darwin, and thereafter by four wheel drive vehicles which have
been specially modified and adapted to suit the rugged conditions.
During the dry season you can choose to fly in
by light aircraft or drive in yourself using your own vehicle ( 4WD only ). This means of
access is a real challenge for the 4WD enthusiast and is not recommended for
novices. We provide maps for the journey (a printable file is provided on our
"Contact" page) and arrange special permits to travel
into Arnhemland.
For
those wishing to use their own equipment and for international clients, the
import and export firearm permits, temporary shooters licences and gun permits
necessary to meet the stringent Australian and Northern Territory firearms
regulations can be organised at the time bookings are made. Davidsons Safaris
also maintains a range of firearms of various calibre, with appropriate
ammunition suitable for this style of trophy hunting that can be hired on site
by prior arrangement. Bowhunters are welcome guests.
